The Safety Assessment Engineer is responsible for completing safety assessments at customer factory locations and generating Stronghold Safety Engineering proprietary analyses and reports. The Safety Assessment Engineer will work closely with the Engineering Services team to ensure that the assessment, concept design, scopes of work and risk rankings are delivered and managed throughout the safety assessment process. Interpersonal skills, leadership and the ability to work in a collaborative manner across disciplines are characteristics of a successful Safety Assessment Engineer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• General knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA 79, NEC and ISO standards and apply them to the assessment of risk formachines and processing lines to identify deficiencies in industrial settings.• Complete all safety assessment activities and reporting including collecting data, developing scopes of work andbudgetary estimates with disciplined attention to detail and timeliness using Stronghold’s proprietary assess-ment application.• Develop budget estimation of hours for offsite report development, integrator time, and drafting time of designconcepts for the development of customer proposals.• Review collected safety assessment data to ensure all aspects of machine are compliant with appropriate regula-tory and consensus standards.• Develop clear and consistent scope of work documents using common or custom industry designs.• Participate in site safety orientations per customer requirements.• Represent Stronghold as a main point of contact during the onsite assessment process at customer facilities, in-terfacing with designated customer representatives and other stakeholders (C-Suite executive level, plant man-agement, engineers, operators, EHS, purchasing, etc.).• Participate, as required, in all internal and customer project meetings, including project planning and initiation,execution and close-out.• Provide information and support to design engineers to generate the mechanical, electrical and controls plansand drawings for the proposed machine guarding solutions.• Ongoing development of knowledge of compliance with all safety policies and procedures, LOTO procedures,emergency contact procedures, etc.• Responsible for assessment quality control; including completion of scope of work to project/customer require-ments, meeting all applicable standards, consistency of assessments and reporting.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS•Experienced Professional – Bachelor’s degree, engineering preferred. 3-5 years of engineering experience, industrial settings preferred.

• Leadership – Hands-on self-starter with willingness to lead by example by working in the details with the team. Assumes ownership and drives sense of urgency when appropriate. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence and motivate others to work toward a common goal.

•Problem Solving/Troubleshooting – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Drives to root cause and proposes alternative solutions. Develops and collaborates on group problem solving initiatives. Ability to reason and take a methodical approach.

•Technical Skills – Strong technical aptitude and knowledge of electro-mechanical systems. Ability to read and understand mechanical assembly drawings and electrical/pneumatic schematics. Working knowledge of soft-ware tools to track information and communicate ideas effectively.

•Organizational Skills – Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks. Understands which matters need immedi-ate attention and which can be dealt with later. Demonstrated attention to detail.

•Communication Skills – Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Communicate ideas effectively and in a professional manner. Listens well and seeks clarification when necessary. Ability to communicate with a di-verse group of individuals at all organizational levels.

•Travel – 50%+ in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
