The Site Project Manager (SPM) has direct responsibility over on-site installation activities, project performance and customer satisfaction. The SPM directs the activities of the field installation crews including customer factory personnel, fabricators and electrical and mechanical subcontractors working to complete the remediation of the customer's processing and production equipment. The SPM works closely with and under the direction of the Project Manager (PM).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with PM to complete all project planning activities, project management processes, and communications for assigned projects, with disciplined attention to detail, consistency and timeliness.

  • Work with PM to develop, manage and communicate project schedules for assigned projects.  Identify and manage the critical path, maximize speed of execution of all aspects of the critical path, with clean project task handoffs and solid hurdle management.

  • Understand project requirements and ensure that all scope of work documents are complete, organized and understood by the project team, including subcontractors.

  • Maintain and update project tracking documents, including project schedules, procurement schedules and shipping/receiving schedules on a weekly basis.

  • Represent Stronghold as the main point of contact, interfacing with designated customer representatives and other stakeholders (project manager, operators, EHS, purchasing, etc.).  Maintain high level of professionalism and positive attitude when working with internal teams and customers, at times during difficult situations.

  • Schedule and lead internal and customer project meetings, including project kick-off, progress and close-out.  Record, publish and file accurate and complete meeting minutes.

  • Assist with qualifying and procuring engineering subcontractors (electrical and mechanical) and installation subcontractors (electrical and mechanical) for projects through vetting and bidding process. 

  • Identify all out-of-scope changes requested by the customer, complete clear and detailed change orders and provide the change order report to the customer for review and approval for all scope changes.

  • Develop and communicate installation plan with project team and customer, including downtime requirements for each machine.

  • Coordinate the timely and efficient shipment of material, tools and equipment to and from job site.

  • Responsible for project financial tracking and performance; including project budget, costs, change orders and risk management.  Complete timely communication and management of project invoicing and payments.  

  • Responsible for accurate and timely material procurement, documentation tracking (vendor quotes, packing slips, etc.), and vendor invoice approval. 

  • Coordinate and communicate plant access, site specific safety training and PPE requirements for project resources.  Ensure project team (internal and subcontractors) compliance with all safety policies and procedures, LOTO procedures, emergency contact procedures.

  • Assume role of site supervisor, ensuring employees and subcontractors have necessary materials and resources to complete work.  Conduct daily crew meeting, pre-task planning, assess material needs, progress reports, collect time logs, etc.

  • Responsible for project quality control; including completion of scope of work to project/customer requirements, general workmanship, meeting all applicable standards, consistency of design (machine to machine and site to site).

  • Prompt completion of punch list items, project close, and final documentation.  Ensure complete customer satisfaction, obtaining final customer sign-off upon project completion.

 SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experienced Professional – Bachelor’s degree, engineering preferred.  Five years of project management or engineering experience, industrial settings preferred.  PMP designation preferred, but not required.

  • Leadership – Hands-on self-starter with willingness to lead by example by working in the details with the team.  Assumes ownership and drives sense of urgency when appropriate.  Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence and motivate others to work toward a common goal.

  • Problem Solving/Troubleshooting – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.  Drives to root cause and proposes alternative solutions.  Leads group problem solving initiatives.  Ability to reason and take a methodical approach, even in difficult situations.

  • Technical Skills – Strong technical aptitude and experience with electro-mechanical systems.  Ability to read and understand mechanical assembly drawings and electrical/pneumatic schematics.  Working knowledge of software tools to track information and communicate ideas effectively (MS Project, MS Office Suite).

  • Organizational Skills – Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.  Understands which matters need immediate attention and which can be dealt with later.  Demonstrated attention to detail.

  • Communication Skills – Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Communicate ideas effectively and in a professional manner.  Listens well and seeks clarification when necessary.  Ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels.

  • 50-75% travel in the United States, Canada and Mexico required for this position
