eCommerce Business Development Manager

The eCommerce division of our industrial safety engineering company sells safety related products and services to new and existing customers through its eCommerce platforms as an online retailer. Customers are looking for solutions to machine guarding and fall protection issues, often as a result of an OSHA inspection. The primary points that differentiate our eCommerce offering from our competitors are a diverse product catalog; custom engineered and manufactured safety products; timely product delivery and responsive customer service.

The eCommerce Business Development Manager is responsible for assisting in building our inside sales program including processes and procedures for lead generation and follow-up, CRM use, and building customer base. Implementation of Salesforce will be a primary goal for this role.

Additional day to day responsibilities include sales and customer service for the online store, processing phone orders, working with our drop-ship partners for order fulfillment, and creating customer quotes. This role is also a key contributor to the overall growth and operation of the eCommerce store and plays a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious revenue growth objectives. This team member must be comfortable communicating with customers and working with channel partners.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Close and process customer orders by answering telephone, fax, and email inquiries; verifying and entering information

  • Create and implement inside sales plan

  • Support business unit manager’s successful completion of objectives and key performance measures

  • Maintain a strong knowledge level of all products and systems

  • Validate costs involved with production

  • Develop accounts by checking customer's buying history; suggesting related and new items; explaining technical features

  • Maintain and improve quality results by following standards; recommending improved policies and procedures

  • Accomplish department and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

  • Assist in maintaining system data integrity

  • Knowledge in using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Fishbowl Inventory, Magento, and basic accounting software

  • Continuous customer contact via phone and email to field questions and accept orders

  • Frequent contact with vendors and suppliers in order to maintain pricing and product information

  • Regularly interacts with Stronghold Safety Engineering services business unit providing parts and insight for projects

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, a related field or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of successful sales experience, industrial safety experience preferred
